Do you sell realestate? Register your fingerprints with the Feds!

Apparently a bill sailed through the Senate recently that would require anyone connected with home mortgage origination to be fingerprinted with the Feds. What exactly is this supposed to accomplish except to create a non-criminal fingerprint registry that eventually everyone can be shoe-horned in to?

Ah, government. They always want to know where you are, what you're doing, and whether it's illegal. And they'll do it in such a way that every other citizen is the eyes and ears for them. Mandated spying on your neighbor. That has to be fun.
