I love Trudeau, or at least the people who assemble the quotes. The streamer tape on today's strip is also pretty good.

Maybe I'll post some blather on her a little later. I'll start with "it appears to me to be a blatant grab at Hillary fans who refuse to back Obama', throw in a little 'her wikipedia page was heavily edited with a favorable bias 24 hours before her nomination by a new login that had never contributed to any other page before', and finish up with 'she wants Creationism taught in school as 'an alternative viewpoint.''

Oh, forgot to add, 'she's also under investigation for an ethics charge, results of said investigation should come out in October.'

Well, we're either going to have a black president or a female veep, history either way.

There's a bumper sticker that I see occasionally: "McCain: Bush's third term". Only this time perhaps they're reversing the role of the mastermind and the dupe.

What she says is a valid question, though. A lot of people can't say what the veep does, because it's not a role that is strongly defined in the constitution. The veep serves as a advance man for the prez to pump programs and such, the veep is out glad-handing when the prez is busy elsewhere. The power of the veep varies, people think Gore was one of the more effective and useful veeps in recent history.

The job's role is obvious in case someone caps the prez, otherwise they're sort of a bench-warmer, waiting for ties in the senate.
