This election has been interesting to me, in that it has pretty much proven that the U.S. is far more sexist than it is racist. Obama gets treated respectfully, while Clinton and Palin are constantly mocked and demonized.

I guess it depends on which media that you're talking about as to which campaign is treated with respect and which is demonized. Neither pair of candidates is what I'd really want, I find the Obama/Biden match much less distasteful. I've never liked McCain, and I just can't imagine what he was thinking when he chose Palin (aside from maybe he could sucker the Clinton supporters over), much less what the vetting process was (wholly inadequate). There are a lot of women whom I would have no problem with being Veep or POTUS, but Palin is definitely not one of them.

I think as long as we're wedded to the two-party system, we're never going to see a decent selection of candidates, but that's an old, familiar refrain from me.
