Wow.
It is the comic brought to life.
Obviously they had to cut some material, some of which was filmed and will be on the DVD release, but they never cut important things. The casting was excellent. I did not like what I saw of the person playing Veidt based on previews and trailers, I said he looked like an Eastern European fop, and I take it all back. He did an excellent job playing Ozymandias. Fight sequences: awesome. Archie: awesome. Dr. Manhattan: awesome. Silk Specter: awesome. Night Owl: awesome. The Comedian: awesome. Rorschach: well, he's Rorschach. Just as insane as the comic showed him to be, definitely a primal force. He's also awesome.
Violence level: kind of intense. It is definitely an R-rated film, also has absolute full-frontal nudity of Doc M and Silk Spectre's breasts. Oh, and Daniel's butt.
Music was great: straight, strong 80's stuff.
The dialog was pretty much straight from the comic. The story was altered slightly, and I won't go further into that.
In fact, I think I'll just stop here, except to say that I expect I'll be seeing it at least twice again and will definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out.
Now I think I'll have some chocolate milk perhaps and re-read the graphic novel.

Date: 2009-03-07 04:12 pm (UTC)THERE WAS NO STAR TREK TRAILER!
I had read that there was supposed to be a new Trek trailer with Watchmen, and I don't know why, but they didn't show it! Either the theater did not receive it, or the theater chopped it, I don't know. Guess I'll have to go looking for it. And I was really looking forward to seeing it, too!
