"I think health care is a privilege. I wouldn't call it a right."
-- Sen. Jim DeMint

Health care, itself, isn't the issue: it's affordable access to it. I would be deeply screwed if I did not have health insurance: I could very well be unable to leave the house for risk of infection and might be living on antibiotics.

I say we change this guy's mind by taking away his privilege. After all, aren't privileges something awarded by a higher authority? And aren't we the ones in charge of congress through our electoral process?

Anyone who says it is a privilege will change their tune when their spouse/child/parent is turned down for lack of ability to pay and dies.

Yep! We need to unleash the entire WWF (or whatever the wrestling federation is called these days) armed with cluebats upon congress.... ;-)

Health care is neither a privilege or a right. It is a service to be bought and sold.

I'm sure that if he had to pay full-price for all the procedures that will happen to him from here on out, he'll be in favor of affordable insurance premiums or just flat out affordable procedures. Might take the members of Congress losing their health plan before they'll seriosuly consider reforming everyone else's.
