I'll bet politicians hate the online world for how rapidly it can prove they talk out of both sides of their mouth. I guess I misheard the original, I thought it was Franken asking for a little extra time, and someone else shut him down.

It's amazing how well and swiftly someone can be fact-checked these days. I'm sure that makes every politician squirm.

Technology is a great thing in many ways, being able to fact-check politicos is definitely one of the better ones.

I don't know if I've ever heard politicians acknowledge when they've been caught out and admit to either having changed their mind or to having made a mistake.

I have heard such an acknowledgment, but I can't recall the specifics. I'm sure such acknowledgments are few and far between.

And probably not on anything substantive. Although there may be a few people who were for the war before they were against it and will say so if they think that being against the war is the way to get them re-elected.
