So not only is FedEx failing to deliver my overnighted laptop for over a week and we're going to El Paso this afternoon to pick it up, our stove just died. I just talked to Sears service, and a repair guy is supposed to call within 24 hours to set an appointment.

So I go to Sears.com to price the buggers. They started at over $600 and went up sharply from there.

So I go to HomeDepot.com. They started at about $300 and had LOTS of selection at much more reasonable prices.

Does anyone have any brand suggestions?

Last year we replaced our 70's era "Harvest Gold" stove with a Tappan for about that price. If we'd known it was that cheap (relatively speaking), we would have done it much sooner.

We go down to Alamogordo on Saturday mornings for yoga, today we stopped at Home Depot. All they had were floor models: they got cleaned out before Thanksgiving and anything that had to be ordered wouldn't be delivered until February. We went next door to Lowes, found a nice smoothtop electric, and they're delivering it tomorrow afternoon!

Now we just have to deal with all of the snow and ice in front of our house.
