The radio show that made Weird Al Yankovic a star was down to four or so stations and now those are going away. He'll still be carried, for the time being, out of a station in Amarillo, TX, but new shows will now be streamed online weekly!

Out with the old, in with the new.

(there must be some way that I can tell my Mac to wake up at a certain time and capture an audio stream...)

The problem with Dr. Demento for me was always that it aired so very late. When I used to try to listen, I would turn on the radio, pop in a blank cassette, hit record, and go to sleep. Later, I'd listen to however much of the show the tape was long enough for.

I'm rather surprised, actually, that someone hasn't made a podcast or something like it of the good Doctor. That would be the easiest way to capture the demented goodness and make it available.
