We changed cell providers Saturday as we don't want to be with AT&T, and I just finished putting our new numbers in the registry. We don't have a home phone, and it has been effective for me in the past with cell phones. Well worth 5 minutes of time to prevent cellular annoyance.

Hrrrrm. I guess this doesn't apply to text messaging. I checked, and my cell # is registered, and yet I've been getting some annoying marketing text messages.

My wife and I don't text message, in fact we don't have text for our contract. I had been receiving text messages every day on my new phone, I guess my number hadn't been inactive for very long. I called my provider and they put a total block on all incoming text messages, so at least that's stopped.

But while exploring Verizon's site, they have a spot to block spam text messages. You might want to check in with your provider and talk to them.

OK - Verizon is my provider. I will have to log in and take a look at that.
