Marvel gets funding for ten more superhero movies

"Marvel said the 10 characters in the arrangement are Captain America, The Avengers, Nick Fury, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Cloak & Dagger, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Power Pack, and Shang-Chi. Each film is expected to have a budget of up to $165 million dollars and a rating no more restrictive than PG-13. Although the financing allows for the production of animated films, Marvel currently intends to use the funds to make only live-action films."


My only problem is that with the exception of X Men, it seems like every superhero film that I see has to re-tell the origin. That has to be in order to draw in a non-fan audience, but I'd rather see five good films and five good sequels.

I know. Of all the characters in all the comics, they had to choose that one! Black Panther and Ant Man, I'm kinda iffy on. Hawkeye would be good in conjunction with an Avengers movie because they could then do something with West Coast Avengers, but more importantly, it might force DC into doing a Green Arrow movie!

I'm guessing if they DO a GA movie it will involve Kevin Smith. Hopefully he'll have stopped sucking by then. If these things all come into conjunction I'll be very excited.

Otherwise it will probably end up like (weeps silently for a moment) the imminent Ghost Rider movie. DAAAAMN YOU, NICHOLAS CAAAAGE!
