Funny! I'm a try-anothing-once kind of goumand (though I think I'll draw the line at crunchy insects, were I ever offered them) so this is amusing.

Most of the list were the type of things that I used to eat for snacks as a child growing up in Hawaii. Several (like whatever it was with the chocolate) look like something developed after contact with what passes for Western Civilization (chocolate is not a regular thing in Oriental cuisine). And the dried squid, I don't care for it and much prefer dried cuttlefish.

You should check the Travel Channel's listing. They have a show about a guy who travels the world tasting the most unusual food he can find. I think it's called Worst Foods, or something like that. I caught the episode where he was in Thailand, and among the various foods he tried were stir-fried bat (which looked rather good, if you ignored the head) and the world's stinkiest fruit (he said that it was the only thing in the history of his doing the show that he could not eat).
