When I was driving home last night, I stopped to take some digital pictures of the full moon. My new 28-300mm zoom works on my digital, so I took many shots at the maximum focal length. Tonight I was going to do more of the same, only with my 400mm lens, so after I got home from my photography class, I mounted the zoom on my digital and opened the front door.

This is what I saw. (sorry for the load times if you're not on broadband)

Sorry for the bad focus. We were literally about three feet apart, and digitals don't focus well in low light. I was lowering the camera as far as I could to get them in frame. I only got four decent shots before they ran away.

I have this strange image of the three of them standing on each other's shoulders to ring the door bell then run away. The fact that we don't have a door bell is utterly besides the point.

I know [livejournal.com profile] deborak will be amused.

They really were cute and pretty, reminded me of large siamese cats. But I also know the possibility of getting nastiness if they were to bite you!

awww ...

Love it! Still no raccoons in my yard. Just possums and deer.

Well, I'd say that you were drinking enough to see triple (three raccoons) but not enough that you started seeing cartoon animals. :-)

I've never really seen wild racoons, but they've invaded our yard before. They decided to eat some rather expensive snails out of our pond. I hope they enjoyed the escargot

Awwww

I was so absolutely stunned that they didn't bolt as soon as I opened the door! I've been keeping an eye out for them, but I'm not silly enough to feed them. ;-)
