That doesn't surprise me at all, although I doubt that I would have guessed that as a trivia question. I remember back when Deep Throat was running, it was the first porn movie (XXX-rated) that was shown in regular theaters (which is where I first saw it). It was so popular that it was being mentioned (and joked about) in all sorts of mainstream entertainment; I remember Johnny Carson regularly making jokes about it on The Tonight Show.

I also remember when Harry Reems was on trial for it as well, although I must admit that I wasn't following his story too closely at the time.
