Don't these people realize that the line 'We're on a mission from God' was A JOKE?

People who sincerely believe this frighten me and are dangerous to anyone who doesn't believe their version of religion.

And change a couple of the nouns, say, so that the quote says "This is Allah's will... A mission to make the culture a better culture, more pleasing to Allah" and these same people are foaming at the mouths, shrieking of tyranny and evil and anti-Americanism.

They don't get it... if it would be wrong for a teacher to sit the class down and make them listen to a prayer to Zeus it's equally wrong to make them listen to a prayer to Jesus.

There's a push right now for Michigan liberals to vote Santorum in the primary, to ensure an Obama victory. I can't do it. I just can't. The thought of him being as close to the Presidency as he is already makes me want to hide under the bed with a stockpile of guns and contraception.

My favorite illustration is the joke of God calling the White House and talking to the President. "I've decided to make the United States a Christian nation," says God. Mr. Google Problem is not someone I would say speaks with any authority about the message of G-d,k especially considering how he and his party time and again refuse to take care of the poorest among them, despite some very clear teachings on the matter.
