I'm frankly amazed that I haven't seen any movies in February, I think part of it is the lousy selection that our local theater brings in. I'm hoping to see The Artist when I'm in Las Cruces Friday night, we'll see how crowded it is.

I started reading the first Dresden book a while back and for whatever reason set it down and didn't pick it up again. I then played the RPG and started reading the game material and picked it up again and I'm pretty much hooked. It's interesting seeing the character(s) grow and change, I don't often notice that in a book.

Yeah, I'm sometimes late to the show but I do get there. I'm not a fan, overall, of sword & sorcery with a few exceptions. But Dresden, being urban/contemporary s&s, has a very different vibe to it.

What's your opinion of the strength of the female characters? I discuss it with my wife, who hasn't read it yet, and I think they're pretty well-written and strong.

He's not too bad with them. His female characters tend to have a bit more masculine perspective. Karen Murphy being the best example, but being a cop that's expected. I never cared that much for Susan Rodriquez. She never seemed realistic to me.
