EU parliament agrees to send airline passenger data to Homeland Security

If the carrier has flights to the US, the data, even if the flight originates and ends in Europe, will be sent to the USA.

I have to wonder what kind of bullying is going on that DHS gets to have all the data, even for just EU-to-EU flights.

The one thing that I could see is if the US threatened to stop data sharing with EU law enforcement. But unless someone leaks some classified papers, we're not very likely to ever know.
