He did run for President, and was either insufficiently wignutty or too wingnutty for the Republican base.

It wasn't that serious of an attempt, did he even do any debates? I'm going to have to make half an attempt at watching the RNC debates next cycle.

I'm just happy Michelle Bachman is going away.
