I don't think so. I love the media's failure to use words correctly. I love the conservatives forever pronouncing Obama as a wuss or a tyrant. Wouldn't a tyrant have more leverage with Putin? Must have been wearing his wuss panties that day. Can't have it both ways, sweetum's.

I'm reminded of a Star Trek comedy routine that I heard long ago.

Dr. McCoy: I'm a doctor, dammit, not a floor wax!
Announcer: But wait! The NEW Dr. McCoy IS a doctor AND a floor wax!
Dr. McCoy: He's dead, Jim, BUT LOOK AT THAT SHINE!


I'm also reminded of the first episode of the new BBC series Sherlock where a female cop tells Watson to watch out for Sherlock because he's a psychopath. He replies, "I am not, I'm a highly-functioning sociopath."

No, I don't know why I was reminded of that routine. My brain is a dark and occasionally frightening place.

No, you see, he's a liberal. That means he wants to dictate to every Real American how they are allowed to live their lives, but if someone actually stands up to him, he'll be exposed as the spineless wimp that he really is.

Well, people who don't want to obey laws they don't like don't generally worry about what words actually mean. "I can't smoke in restaurants? That's fascism!"

I prefer the latter part of his rant, where he degenerates into some incoherent mess about the pursuit of happiness. I used to think he was just making a buck off extremist right wing nuts, but now I'm wondering if he's got something broken in his brain.

Beck is a pretty screwed up fellow. According to Wikipedia, "He was a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and has described himself as a "borderline schizophrenic."" He has pretty much zero post-secondary education: signed up for one class on theology at Yale and dropped it. Although his highschool was a Jesuit one, he's entirely self-educated with dubious results, but he knows flaming rhetoric pretty well. He was a morning DJ in Phoenix who called the wife of a rival DJ, on-air, and mocked her about her recent miscarriage.

I'll have to look up the rest of his rant. The guy needs some serious therapy and meds.
