Though my parents never drank and I drink very little, I've known families that had big problems with alcoholism. I would happily hire a lesbian over an alcoholic for such a job. Heck, I'd hire a lesbian over an alcoholic for any job simply because I wouldn't hire an alcoholic as they're not reliable by definition.

I wonder how much outrage people like this would feel if they had a relative who was a certified teacher and couldn't get a job, then applied for one at a school for LGBTQs and they told said relative 'no, we can't hire you because you're not gay and you might try to molest our kids.'

I heard a wonderful thing the other day. The attorney that argued in front of the SCOTUS for upholding California's Prop 8: his daughter is getting married. To another woman. He reports that his 'views on the matter have evolved.' She came out to him while he was either arguing or preparing to argue against Prop 8.

Yep. That's how this has gone. Eventually, everybody knows somebody who is one of Them, and yet, is clearly a decent person, or is family, and so they find out that they can't support hating family.
