Gas prices seem to have recovered in our part of NM

We're back to the low $2.20s, on 8/10 I filled up at $2.23. So we're pretty much back to where we were before Katrina. When we were in Las Cruces over the weekend, it was 20-30 cents higher, I spoke with my mom in Phoenix today and they're also still at around the $2.50 level.

Our prices keep dropping too. We're down to $2.09-2.13. Bill's old car is all fixed and running, so he's hoping to have it sold by Friday. Then he'll get something with good gas mileage to balance out our SUV.

We're getting back down around that amount as well. But I think it's sad that we think anything over $2 is recovering. *sigh* Man have we gotten beat. :p

Congrats! It's been rather a while since the Benz has been on the road, hasn't it? How's the market looking for it, has it increased as a collectible even with its problem?

It just occurred to me: you ought to get a picture of Bill in his freak halloween costume behind the wheel before you sell it. Photoshop it with something like "Would you buy a used car from this man?"

The car has been in wraps for exactly two years. We're not sure what the market will bear. Bill has a friend in the car business who seems to be able to cherry pick rich novelty auto buyers, so we're hoping that he will help us maximize the sale. Mid-range blue book value on the car is $12,700, but we don't expect to get that much.
