Well, of last week.

CNBC's John Harwood:
"...L.B.J. created Medicare in the mid-60s. Your hero Ronald Reagan campaigned vigorously against that, saying it would lead to socialized medicine, would end liberty in the United States. Who was right: L.B.J. or Reagan?"

Sen. Ted Cruz:
"It's not worth tilting at windmills. I don't know. I wasn't alive then..."

And there's so many other questions this answer can be applied to! Social Security, Women's Vote, Equal Rights, wow!

Translation: I'm going to deflect that question because it doesn't support all these other lies I'm telling.

That guy boggles my mind with how deftly he twists his words. I can't even say he twists the truth, because truth so seldom has a damn thing to do with whatever he's saying.

He has truly mastered the art of politics. Even when you know he's saying something to hammer him on, he leaves nowhere to grasp.

PolitiFact has rated like 50 statements from the man, and literally ONE was rated as true. And it was about toilet seats.

I had forgotten that I had the PolitiFact app on my iPhone, I had a lot of fun yesterday cruising it on Cruz.

While I trust Politifact on the truth exactly as far as I can throw them, that even they cannot rate Ted Cruz as completely true except for one example says something about Ted Cruz.

He can't say what he's thinking because he knows as much as the rest of us do how popular Medicare is. So instead of speaking his belief that Reagan was right and the Affordable Care Act is the socialism Reagan wanted us about, he deflects the question. If Cruz can manage this level of elusiveness until the nomination, he might just get it.
