Trump wants to end birthright citizenship, which is a Constitutional point. Which perhaps means amending the Constitution, which hasn't been done in a long time. And this guy wants to reinvent slavery? I wonder if it would be strictly for brown people, or if Brits and Canadians who've overstayed their visas would also be included. Somehow I doubt it.

In the case of Canadians, no need for uncertainty. There are Canadians who overstay their visas or work when they're there on a student visa. No one cares. I mean, if immigration finds out they probably do something about it, but when regular people find out, they don't get in an uproar. And those illegal immigrants aren't picking fruit or cleaning toilets.

When Arizona passed their SB1080 or whatever it was, the Mexican comedian Carlos Mencia who went to Scottsdale to see a friend who was an illegal alien who overstayed his visa. He wasn't concerned in the least because he was a blond Caucasian Brit.

I doubt it, too. I'm also thinking about the implications for sex trafficking - get someone here, take away their immigration paperwork and then wait and/or call the police so that you can legally enslave them. I'm sure there are plenty of people who could easily think of this particular exploit and put it to use.

Slavery whether explicit or not is still wrong even if they are illegal immigrants.
