And that's Trump and Republican style - make a sweeping general statement to classify an entire group as undesirable, provide no proof to back that statement, then spin anyone who acts on that statement as an exuberant individual, unrelated to their rhetoric. It's standard operating procedure for bigotry.

Or indeed, any conservative. Look at the UK, and the rise in recent years in violence against immigrants, especially anyone looking "Muslim" - the very same "we had no idea being xenophobic would promote hatred of foreigners!" as demonstrated here. (See also benefit claimants, which the Flail and its ilk are vilifying as never before - quite an accomplishment, for them)

Yes, I get to see some of that vilification at work, with other journals that I follow. The Austerity government apparently believes that word means "cut off as many social services as possible and name the rest absurdly difficult to claim".

Ahh, passionate - that's the politically correct term for being thugs, then. Why the hell would being passionate about one's place of birth (not exactly something to be proud of, in the first place - what did those thugs do to earn that?) involve being violent criminals?

Oh, to have these cretins be required to take the same citizenship tests they imagine durn furriners can? (Ideally, with the same waiting times involved in the process)
