Sounds like the final leg of the drive was... exciting. Reminded me of driving in Spain where I got my little Renault Elf up a tinier and tinier small-town street... one of the women as I passed her house looked at me like I was insane... and I found out why when said tiny street ended in stairs with no turnaround. I had to go back and forward over and over until finally I was facing back down the footpath-sized road. No *way* was I going to try to back down that street!
I'm another desert rat, and that white stuff boggles me too :) why would people live with that!? (Okay, I know why Russ has to). I expect there will be snow in the mountains north of Tucson when I go down for Thanksgiving, but I have no expectations of getting up into it.
