Date: 2016-06-04 01:19 pm (UTC)HDR can indeed look quite natural, yay! Still, I suppose plenty of folk like the more otherworldly look, as Trey wossname proves. =:/ (Not that he isn't highly talented - I'm just not fond of the hyper-vivid look)
Dogs have got this whole "enjoying life" thing down pat.
I'm quite fond of using a CPL with landscapes, even with the 10-20mm - absolutely, it introduces its own stamp when at the crazily wide end, but I quite like the look. At 20mm, it's much more "normal", and simply does its usual thing of helping bring out the blue of the sky, or warding off water reflections. Think I'd quite like to pick up a dark neutral filter sometime, for very long exposures in busy environments. Oh, and a real tripod. =:/

Date: 2016-06-04 01:32 pm (UTC)White Sands is a gypsum desert where the sand is actually white. If you look at it in Google Earth it's pretty interesting. It's about 45 minutes or so from my house, I used to go there regularly.
