The bundle contains at least four collections of short stories, and many of the books look quite interesting. I'm a big fan of short story collections as it gives you good samples of lots of writers or lots of samples of hopefully a good writer.

The bundle is up for another 22 days. You can designate part of your purchase to a charity, English PEN, whose motto is 'Freedom to write, freedom to read.'

The books are DRM-free and conveniently come down in one zip, rather than having to click 20 download links and hope you got them all. All of the books seem to be standalone rather than a later part of a series, though they may be set in existing author worlds.

Selected reviews of the books:
Unto the Godless What Little Remains by Mário Coelho: "Rock'n'roll for the eyes." – The Times

Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: "Haunting and beautifully nuanced, Signal to Noise is a magical first novel." – The Guardian

Ion Curtain by Anya Ow: "An addictive space opera" – Publishers Weekly

Nova Hellas: Stories from Future Greece by Francesca T Barbini and Francesco Verso: "Often underwater, sometimes entirely virtual, facing calamities from austerity to beepocalypse, near future Greece comes to life in these stories. Forget everything you learned in school, on vacation, or from the faded memories of your immigrant γιαγιά. Λοιπόν, this is the real deal." – Nick Mamatas, author of The Planetbreaker's Son and The Second Shooter

The Love Machine & Other Contraptions by Nir Yaniv: "In short, this collection of short stories is: outstanding. Buy more copies than one if you give special books to people you respect... I don't mean 'outstanding' in relation to other books this year, but in relation to any in any." – World Fantasy Award nomineee Anna Tambour

& This is How to Stay Alive by Shingai Njeri Kagunda: "A beautiful and rending look at family, loss, and grief, all while sharply dissecting time travel tropes and delivering a powerful message about memory, storytelling, and responsibility. It's a story that hurts in the best of ways, confronting death and healing without losing its sense of humor or its impulse for rebellion." – Charles Payseur, author of The Burning Day and Other Stories

And What Can We Offer You Tonight by Premee Mohamed: "And What Can We Offer You Tonight is a deep dive into sacred revenge, a vivid, devastating and exquisite story of love and loyalty, among three friends who can ill afford such luxuries." – L.X. Beckett, author of Gamechanger and Dealbreaker

Hadithi & the State of Black Speculative Fiction by Eugen Bacon and Milton Davis: "Eugen Bacon and Milton Davis come together for Hadithi & The State of Speculative Black Fiction to share a compelling addition to the commentaries and canon of black literature" – Aurealis

Of Dragons, Feasts and Murders by Aliette de Bodard: "Delightful… Beautiful writing, weird and magical world, fascinating culture and politics, and compelling characters: what more do you need?" – KJ Charles, author of Slippery Creatures

HebrewPunk by Lavie Tidhar: "Imagine Hard-Boiled Kabbalah... If you like your otherworld fun noir, have I got a book for you!" – Kage Baker, author of In the Garden of Iden

Packt Publishing is running a sale - their ENTIRE inventory of ebooks and videos is $5 per item! Books ranging from $20 on up, only $5! I don't know how long the sale will be running, but it is one heck of a deal.

Packt also has a Book of the Day. Sign up for their mailing list, check the web site daily, and you can bind it to your library and read it anytime you like online. Good way to expand your library in subjects that may be on the periphery of your field but not really core to what you're doing that you might want to dig in to sometime.

This is a heck of a bundle! As usual, the books are DRM-free and in this bundle are provided in PDF format, which is not my favorite as they're so much bigger than epub, but it is what it is.

All proceeds go to "Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization on the ground in Ukraine providing medical supplies, emergency field kits, and insulin."

Cuisines included are: Puerto Rican, world sauces, New Orleans, Japanese, American Barbecue sauces, Filipino, Southern Keto, Southern Diabetic, Italian, Scandinavian baking, Italian, Lebanese, Asian, pressure cooker curry, Indian vegetarian, Portuguese, French, Creole and Cajun, Middle Eastern, dumplings, Mexican, Asian pickles, South Indian, Spanish, German, Jewish, Jewish baking, vegan Indian, Southern BBQ, British baking, more Italian, InstaPot Vegan Indian, Korean BBQ, Vegetarian Indian InstaPot, Hot Pot, Chinese Hot Pot, Vegan Japanese, Vegan Chinese, another Cajun, and an American BBQ Smoker cookbook.

That's a lot of topics! These books are by Callisto Media and will be available for just under three weeks (20 days and 21 hours from this post).

100% of the proceeds go to Ukraine charities - and it has raised over $2,200,000 so far!

The breadth of games is quite stunning. Computer games - including VR, Pathfinder rules, Starfinder rules, Warhammer Fantasy rules, comics, programming books on Python, game development including development studios, assets for game development, photo editing software, music editor, 3D printing assets for TTRPGs, PDF software.

Top contributors? Two people have contributed $10,000 EACH.

123 items for $40 or more and the deal is available for about six and a half days.

The bundle contains NINE HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT GAMES, they run in Windows, Mac, Linux, and in browsers. The bundle includes physical games (print and play), computer games, game assets (graphics, tiles, etc.), soundtracks, tools, comics, and books.

In other words, LOTS of stuff!

The original goal was to raise (cue Dr. Evil voice) ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

The current goal is now at SIX MILLION DOLLARS, and they've raised 5.355 MILLION as of this post!

The campaign ends in three days as of me writing this.

Obviously I can't go into any real detail about what all is in the campaign, there's just too much in it. A minimum donation of $10 gets you everything. The average contribution has been $14, the biggest has been $9,000!

Mostly from Humble, what a surprise.

First, their STEM bundle, which is expiring in just under three days. LOTS of stuff here, myself I'm going to be purchasing their middle tier which has a book on Photoshop photo retouching and restoration, something that will be useful. Other books include such topics as basic electronics, particle physics, linear algebra, tensor analysis, a couple of books about SAP, a book about asthma, stuff about 3D printing, AutoCad, physics, linear programming, psychedelic drug treatments, and books about Microsoft Office. So LOTS of stuff!

Next, their science fiction bundle, available for just under five days. Personally, I'm not keen on this bundle as it's more horror than sci fi for my tastes, but there may be some stuff that you might like.

Finally, Humble has a manga/anime bundle which has some interesting stuff in it. This package is available for almost ten days. The $1 Bundle has Cells At Work! volumes 1-5, $8 gets you The Quintessential Quintuplets vols 1-3 and Vinland Saga 1-5, $10 gets you Vinland Saga 6-10, Fire Force (which looks really weird) vols 1-15, and Domestic Girlfriend 1-10. $15 unlocks Domestic Girlfriend 11-18, Blame! 1-6, and Attack on Titan 1-10, $18 adds Attack on Titan 11-20 plus Attack on Titan: Before The Fall 1-16. And finally, $20 gets you Blame! Movie Edition, Aposimz 1-2, and Collected Works: Exclusive Artbook.

That's a lot of anime manga!

StoryBundle has an urban fantasy bundle called The Cities of Magic Bundle, described as "Urban Fantasy is a set of flavors and textures that form a foundation from which thrilling tales of every sort can spring. How to Marry a Werewolf will introduce you to the finer points of supernatural courtship in an alternate Victorian London. Interested in some action? We've got Relic Guardians and Cast into Darkness to feed your need for danger and excitement. If you're in the mood for a mystery, crack open A Furnace Sealed and see how murders are investigated when magic is the modus operandi. If you'd like to see the super heroic side of Urban Fantasy, Scales will teach you what sort of mischief a gargoyle can get up to, and never underestimate the Trials (and Trifles) of a Werevulture. Shadowblood Heir will make you wonder just how much of fiction is really fictional, while Arcana will make you question what depths a society will sink to if it feels threatened by mystic powers. Perhaps you'll find yourself in the city of brotherly love, peering into a darkness that just so happens to be peering back at you in A Traitor in the Shadows, or exploring Boston with a technowitch in Ghost Garages."

This sounds pretty interesting! This bundle is available for another twenty days. $5 gets you four books, including WereVulture Book 1: Trials of a Teenage WereVulture, which sounds fun to me. $15 gets you the rest of the package.

LOTS of stuff in here! And unlike Humble Bundle, this one is available for 22 days! There's also a good chance that another book or two might be slipped into the bundle....

From Melissa's blurb: "This is admittedly an extremely eclectic group. You'll find short stories and novels (and, as I mentioned, a game); you'll find contemporary werewolves and steampunk, dark Edwardian fantasy and stories that draw on myths ancient and modern, a "year's best collection," a year's worth of Glittership, and a wildly diverse collection of pirates. What they have in common is queer visions, visions that celebrate our multitudes, all written by authors at the very top of their game. You'll find diverse characters, an equally diverse range of styles, and stories that will hold you entranced until the very last word."

The titles are:
Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space) by Catherine Lundoff
Underdogs by Geonn Cannon
Transcendent 3 edited by Bogi Takács
Sea, Swallow Me by Craig Laurance Gidney

If you pay at least the bonus price of just $15, you get all four of the regular books, plus SIX more!

Wireless and More Steam-Powered Adventures by Alex Acks
GlitterShip Year Two by Keffy R.M. Kehrli
Skin Deep Magic by Craig Laurance Gidney
Underdogs 2: Beware of Wolf by Geonn Cannon
The Eagle's Heir by Jo Graham and Amy Griswold
Spectred Isle by KJ Charles

All of the titles are, of course, DRM-free and come in both Kindle and epub formats. One thing that StoryBundle does which I really wish Humble did is the download is just a single zip with both formats, makes for a very convenient download.

Featuring The Lamb Will Slaughter The Lion by Margaret Killjoy, Passing Strange by Ellen Klages, A Taste of Honey by Kai Ashante Wilson, and The Black Tides of Heaven by JY Yang. All are in Kindle and epub format, and are available for the next three days.

You do have to sign up for the Tor ebook club, they send out a free book offer every month.

Included, which made it an instant purchase for me, is a book by Lavie Tidhar, Jesus and the Eightfold Path. Yes, Jesus as a kung fu master, kicking butt with Monkey, what looks like Lao Tzu and maybe Buddha? Gotta have!

For $5 you get four ebooks, Kindle or epub, no DRM. Another $10 and you get another eight. The deal runs another 17 days.

This company is called Story Bundle and they sell book and comics collections. A current collection is called Women in SciFi, it's curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch and features books, novellas, collections, and songs by the likes of Vonda McIntyre, Cat Rambo, Nancy Kress, Linda Nagata, Catherine Asaro, Judith Tarr, and others.

This deal is available for another 11 days. There are two differences between this site and others. First, there is no charity. The funds are divided between the authors and the site, and you control the split. Second, they wisely have them available as a single downloaded zip, so much easier to get all the content. Everyone gets a single file of MOBIs and Epubs. So that's pretty convenient.

$15 gets you everything.

I learned of this bundle via a guest post on Charles Stross' blog by Judith Tarr about the invisibility of women in scifi, which has turned in to quite a discussion, including people getting red cards and banned by Charles for churlish behavior.

I looked over my lists of what I've read since 2012 and threw it in to a spreadsheet, and of 80 books 90% have been by male authors. It's not entirely representative of my reading as I know I've read a lot of women authors in the past, like all of Bujold's Vorkosigan series several times, and they didn't happen to fall in the window of my record-keeping, but I'm pretty sure that number wouldn't change by more than 5% if I could accurately go back further.
