The fun just gets funner.
This week The Onion bought Infowars at a Federal bankruptcy auction to make some restitution to the Sandy Hook shooting families that Alex Jones defamed, slandered, and did all sorts of horrible things to over the years. The management of The Onion said they planned on turning it into a parody site, I'm not quite sure what would differentiate it from The Onion, but we would see.
A judge has put the sale on hold pending an evidentiary hearing. At issue is the values of the bids between First United American Companies and The Onion. While The Onion's bid was less than First United's, it also contained an agreement that would reduce the amount that the Sandy Hook families were seeking in restitution from Jones. The foregone money would go to other creditors on Jones' bankruptcy.
Now here's the funner part: FUAC is the company behind all of the supplements and a lot of the stuff that Jones would sell during his broadcasts. Clearly they have ties to Jones and a very substantial interest in him continuing to shill their merchandise. I'd like to know more about the ownership structure of FUAC and if there are any relatives tied to Jones in same.
Sadly, Jones has another studio set up and is ready to resume his pollution of the environment. He's lost valuable branding, but I'm sure he'll re-establish it, given time.
