I'm sure there are a few more people he can kill in his alleged historical books if he sets his pea-brain to it.

No doubt Spicey needs a rest, but I can't see Billy taking over, he doesn't have the right skill set. Something else in the "45" administration? There's always "Advisor" positions, I guess.

But I think there's one problem: right now Bill represents losing. Lots of advertisers abandoned his show, and that's why Faux fired him: he was directly costing them revenue streams. I don't think the Cheetoh-in-Chief would be very interested in a direct hire right now: defending him on Twitter would be one thing, being photographed with him is another. The Orange-in-Chief is very image-conscious, which doesn't explain his ridiculous tie length or using cellophane tape to deal with the end since he can't tie one properly.

That "problem" is exactly why someone with my trains of thought would want O'Reilly in that job.

A pity that it likely won't happen, let alone in a way that I won't be left regretting having wanted (because Monkey's Paw Syndrome is a real thing in politics)...

He'll probably end up getting picked up by someone else, or getting a cabinet job from the Commander in Cheeto.

Heck, he'll probably find some way to blame it all on Obama.

As things work out, he'll likely be promoted to some other job and quietly brought back when everyone is supposedly focused on something else.

But there's a problem with that, Bill committed a fundamental sin: he cost his employer a serious amount of money. Not just in the lawsuits, but in advertisers pulling buys from his show and threatening to cancel contracts with the network. THAT is pressure that the network must respond to. Same thing happened with Glenn Beck: advertisers fled, Beck went away. Ultimately started his own network, which I don't think O'Reilly can as Beck had his own radio show at the time, so Glenn already had infrastructure in place.

I kind of think his status as the conservative iconoclast might help more than hinder in this case - he might have to spend a few years in penance on the talk radio circuit, but I can pretty easily see him returning to form, depending on how well the Democrats do in the next elections.
