We needed reviews for my film club's newsletter, so I went off and saw it tonight.
Blade Trinity, returning Wesley Snipes as Blade, the vampire hunter/hybrid Daywalker, Jessica Biel (7th Heaven, Cellular) steps in as Whistler’s daughter, accompanied by Ryan Reynolds (Harold & Kumar, Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as Hannibal King, an ex-vampire. Off they go to destroy Vampire #1, the big daddy of them all, in their war against nosferatu. Let’s face it, these movies exist solely as escapist action entertainment. The story is not very strong, but the fights are good and the gadgets are cool. If you’re mildly interested, catch it at matinee prices or at the discounts. Reasonably fun, but not as original as the first Blade installment.

Date: 2004-12-09 08:53 am (UTC)There were no "bullet time" sequences, so I'd have to say that I think they moved away from Matrix FX. Then again, I also haven't seen Matrix 3, so I don't know what FX that contained.
They had some interesting story elements, but Snipes was really wooden and they didn't do anything with some of the cooler things, more the pity. It was a fairly linear plot.
