Ways to celebrate Star Wars Day

I did it by unsubscribing from Lucas emails! That's two Disney email series that I've received and unsubscribed from in as many weeks. I'M ON A ROLL! :-)
I grew increasingly disappointed by the movies and maintain that Episodes 4-6 were the best. I liked the first two seasons of Mandalorian, grew increasingly disappointed with whatever the Boba Fett series is, aside from kind of a hot mess IMHO. Personally, I probably wouldn't bother with the new Obi Wan series except Russet is in the "He's a pretty boy!" fan club, so we'll probably be watching that. She asked me about the status of our subscription this morning and she's also interested in Moon Kannnnnigit.
May the Fourth be another day on the calendar preceding the Fifth and following the Third.

Date: 2022-05-05 12:49 am (UTC)I got the email that lists all the movies and series in their order, and I am trying to decide if it's something to tackle. :o

Date: 2022-05-05 01:57 pm (UTC)I have very vague memories of the Moon Knight comic book series from back in the day, should be interesting to watch. We just haven't been watching TV of late. We watched a DVD Monday night when the internet was out and we couldn't play Lord of the Rings Online (their side, not our router failing for once). I can't remember watching anything streaming for two months before that. I'm thinking about cancelling Prime and Netflix and going to My on-demand when I want to watch rather than paying month-to-month and not using it.

Date: 2022-05-06 12:30 am (UTC)I think we got through S3 of The Expanse, I don't know if Russet watched the remaining seasons. I was really interested in seeing how they did a live-action Lupin, I understand it's been renewed for an add'l series. Disney claims that they won't be doing physical releases of the series they do, as does Netflix, time will tell. I would really like to get My Octopus Teacher for my university library!

Date: 2022-05-06 01:40 pm (UTC)There are television shows like I'm still waiting to turn up in some convenient way but they can wait, I still didn't even get around to trying that television show.

Date: 2022-05-06 03:03 pm (UTC)Content is produced so much faster than I can consume that I make very little effort to consume. Our Flag Means Death is about the only serial TV that I really want to see right now, and that's because deep inside I'm a little Waititi fangirl, ever since I saw the film What We Do In The Shadows. :-) There's some stuff I want to catch up on, but basically they're on the When I'm Home Sick list, and I haven't had any extended illnesses of late.

Date: 2022-05-06 06:04 pm (UTC)I don't remember what service was streaming it, but it was one we did not subscribe to, so we didn't see it. And I had heard it went kinda meh. That's rather a shame. It was said that he was going to do a werewolf version of the movie, but I guess his success kiboshed that. Pity. Maybe someday it will come to fruition.

Date: 2022-05-05 02:21 am (UTC)So when we're shopping tomorrow (I'm her ride), I'll be no more than a day late when I wish her "Happy Birthday!" And I remembered it yesterday, but have already forgotten, until you reminded me. Thank you.

Date: 2022-05-05 09:21 pm (UTC)The sad thing is that I'd love to watch a lot of the newer Trek franchise material than the newer SW material. Over the last two decades, SW has been a lot more disappointing to me than Trek. But Trek is all on a streaming service that the only thing offered is that one program, which I don't want to pay for only for that one fandom.

Date: 2022-05-05 09:48 pm (UTC)I'm about ready to disconnect all our streaming and pay for it month to month when we want to watch something. I haven't turned our TV on in over two months until Monday night when our internet was out to watch a DVD.

Date: 2022-05-06 06:47 am (UTC)Absolutely agree. The prequels had interesting aspects, but I'm sorry to say that George is not as great an idea man as he thinks he is. While Disney did a great job with some of the material, they undeniably will milk the crap out of anything they get their hands on. While George absolutely had the right to sell Lucas to anyone he wanted to and light cigars with hundred dollar bills for the rest of his life if that was his game plan, fine. But to The Mouse?
