Windows 10 adoption rate increases to 70%

Meanwhile Windows 11 adoption rate DECLINES to below the 26% mark after hitting a high of just over 28%.

I'm running 11 Pro on my desktop at home. But given the choice, I prefer 10. I can't go back to it, don't have the media. And it's about to go to paid-for support, which I don't want to mess with. I have not yet found any feature in 11 that benefits me, in fact I had to find a workaround to move the task bar to the vertical left side of the screen, where I prefer it.

I really hate it when they eliminate features that people like.

MS apparently announced support for Windows 10 until October, 2025.

Today, my computer told me it needed to restart to update to Windows 11. NO, DO NOT WANT! I have paused updates for the maximum amount of time (35 days); with luck I'll find another, longer lasting solution until then.

Ugh.

I accidentally hit the 'Install Win 11' button on my Win 10 machine at work.  There is a directory you can delete that holds the installation package that will clear everything out, but you had to wait for the whole thing to download before clearing it.  As I recall, it was the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download directory that you needed to clear out, whole bunch of directories under there - wipe 'em all.  That'll hopefully take care of it for you.  I would have preferred my current PC to be 10, but it could only ship with 11.
