"The interior sets used for the Battlestar Pegasus are actually leftover sets from the abortive John Woo remake of "Lost in Space". Woo's series never got off the ground, but its sets were placed in storage. They were then heavily remodeled and reused in this series for all scenes on the Pegasus."

Found this on IMDB when looking up the Commander of the Pegasus (Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes, also appeared as Ensign Ro Laren on Star Trek: TNG).

Anyway, I hadn't heard a word about Woo talking about remaking Lost In Space as a series! Now that would have been really cool!

indeed! that truly would have been really cool... why didn't it get off the ground i wonder? if it made it was far as having sets made up, it was meant to be.

I copied this out of Wikipedia's entry on the LiS original series:

"2nd TV Series

In late 2003, a new TV series, with a somewhat changed format, was in development in the USA. It was intended to be originally closer to the original pilot with no Doctor Smith, but including the robot. A pilot was commissioned by the WB network, directed by John Woo, produced by Twentieth Century Fox TV and Regency Television, and screened to executives in May of 2004.

The pilot script featured the characters of John and Maureen, but an elder son, David, was scripted, as well as Judy, Penny and Will. There was no Doctor Smith character, but the character of Don West was described as a "dangerous, lone wolf type".

The confirmed cast included Brad Johnson as John Robinson, Jayne Brook as Maureen Robinson, Adrianne Palicki as Judy Robinson, Ryan Malgarini as Will Robinson and Mike Erwin as Don West.

It was not among the network's series pick-ups confirmed later that year.

However, the producers of the new Battlestar Galactica show bought the sets. They were redesigned the next year and used for scenes on the Battlestar Pegasus, as creating whole new sets would have been too expensive."

I would say that just because it wasn't picked up doesn't mean that we definitely won't see it, but if they sold the sets off to BG, that doesn't encourage optimism. :-)

no... but me oh my it would have been good... though i'm not sure omitting dr smith was too wise... they could have made him really evil... and cast tim curry!... or christopher walken!!... or christopher lee!!! oh the possibilities. :)

They may have gotten as far as filming a pilot before the plug was pulled, which would have required sets.
