The Secret Service counter-snipers did an excellent job yesterday, everyone was fortunate that the young man was apparently unaware that an AR-15 is a lousy sniper weapon. There's a reason why snipers use heavier rounds: they're much less vulnerable to wind.

Date: 2024-07-15 02:11 am (UTC)Yep. Bolt-action is the way to go for accurate distance shooting. Yes, a trained marksman could shoot well at those distances with an AR-15 that they were familiar with, but by no means an ideal weapon for that.
