Kind of interesting news. A $1.5b transaction, inclusive of debt and other assumed liabilities. I owned a Lexmark laser printer back 15 years ago, it was pretty good - quite the workhorse. But that was when they were an IBM spinoff, before they went to China.

Xerox makes or made pretty good gear, it'll be interesting to see what the result of this acquisition produces. I wish they'd also brought in their laptop division, but that would have been kind of outside of Xerox's wheelhouse.

First printer I ever bought myself was a Lexmark. I think I still have the CD with the drivers and fonts. Got it because my day job at the time had Lexmark printers all over their office spaces, and the price was good enough at that point.

It will be interesting to see if overall things improve or if they decline. :o

An interesting move, and one that I hope results in quality materials for the combined entity. Or possibly Xerox attempting to move toward a consumer market instead of an industrial office one? (If they just wanted to eat poor printers and turn them into good ones, I'd say they could chomp Hewlett-Packard without a second thought, and then hopefully stop all of this nonsense about DRMing the printer cartridges.)
