If you're in the USA and needing a new office/computer chair....

If you have a local Staples, they may be having a clearance sale on them. I picked up a nice Staples-labeled chair for about half-off, took me about half an hour to assemble it. The instructions were excellent: Ikea-like, but included words. ;-) I was a little frustrated in that I didn't find the instructions until I'd pretty much emptied the box, they were in a plastic bag taped with the screw assortment (which is nicely segregated according to what step they are needed for) which was then taped to the box holding the pneumatic cylinder.

MUCH more comfortable than the wood dining table chair that I had been sitting on, it was absolutely horrible for my back! I should clear the floor a bit and slide my PC tower over a little to give the poodle a bit more room to get under the table. It's not a perfect chair, but for $160, it's awfully darn good!

At least at my Staples, they're clearing room to install a Party City, or some other silliness. Personally I think it's a bad idea, but hey, they didn't ask me.

FYI - There's "Rollerblade" wheels for office chairs on Amazon if you want such a thing down the road.

That'd be a nice upgrade!  I've also noticed that the regular cheapies tend to deform over time, and the rollerblades roll much easier.

What a great find for you. Our Staples became an Office Max at the same location years ago. Comfy chairs are so important.

Staples bought out OM, they finally closed the OM in Las Cruces because the traffic access to it was kinda rubbish and the Staples store down the street was a lot larger.

Agreed.  I hate the idea of buying an office chair without sitting in it first!  When I was working at the blind school, the boss was doing a staycation and saw a Staples ad with this really nice chair on sale.  Told his #2 to go out and buy four or five of them for everyone.  I asked whether or not we should go down and check 'em out before buying them, was told no.  So they were bought, put together, and the seat was too deep: you needed really long femurs, they were designed for really tall people.  I was the first one to go back to my old chair, but ultimately everyone did.

I have yet to get that many office chairs that understand I am both a person of long leg and tall torso. Not even the gamer chairs get it, so I worry I'll never get a good office chair that I can relax in.

I can certainly understand that.  My boss at the blind school told his second to buy new chairs for everyone, sight unseen.  They were all designed for much taller people with longer femurs.  Me, being of shorter stature, was the first one to go back to my older chair.  Ultimately everyone did the same.  My new chair had some adjustability that would let you slide the back a little further back, but not much more than half an inch, which probably wouldn't be enough to accommodate you.  It just doesn't make sense to me to buy such an important piece of furniture without getting to sit in it first.
