Thanks to whoeveritwas that linked to this. Sorry, too tired to look for the original source.

We just got news today that he'll be going back to Afghanistan, but he's still stateside and will continue to be for a while yet. Apparently no problems recovering from his belated appendectomy.

It's better than him going to Iraq in my opionion, but that's not to say that it isn't/won't be dangerous.

I thought it was a big mystery that she'd disappeared after the artist who drew her was arrested on indecency charges. Apparently I was misinformed, she's doing major signings I guess in anticipation of her dying and the value for signed artwork rocketing up.

I didn't realize this guy was a Fundie, I've just always thought that his art sucked. Well, apparently he's more than a bit of a nasty businessman, and he's just lost almost $900,000 in arbitration.

Has anyone else been having problems with replying to LJ posts via email? I've been having all sorts of grief since late Thursday night/early Friday AM, and it's drivin' me nuts!

I'm sincerely hoping it's LJ's problem and not indicative of problems with my laptop.

As [livejournal.com profile] cardigirl pointed out, it started raining in the wee small hours of the morning. I was anticipating the possibility of the Supersition Freeway being a parking lot whilst driving out to the festival, it was not. Perhaps the half mile visibility had something to do with it. We got out to the fest a bit after the opening at 10am, and there were only two rows of cars. And there was a mini van stuck in the mud already. We picked up our tickets at will-call and proceeded in, checked in at the Pleasure Feast, were spotted by Richard and told where they were hiding, and wandered off.

Russet and I decided not to dress up, mainly on a warmth/dry basis. I wore two shirts and my leather coat, Russet added her gloves for handling liquid nitrogen to her garb. We talked to the jeweler from whom we bought our rings from the previous two years and headed off to the feast.

The feast, which started at 11am, was good, the emcees were a bit static for my taste (they need better re-writes in the off-season). Rich came to us some time after noon and told us that the faire had closed due to weather. So much for "open rain or shine".

So after the feast we picked up comp tickets to get back in, but it's doubtful that Russet and I will be able to get back down before the run ends, last weekend is the first of April.

Sigh.

Sorry, Deb, no pix. There was no way that I was taking my camera out in that rain.

We may make plans to go to the Denver Ren Fest in June.
