I just watched a deer walk through our front "yard"!

Russ was on a phone conference, sitting at the dining table and started snapping her fingers, pointing out the window. And there it was. It was fairly young, maybe a couple of years, small rack of antlers. Unfortunately my camera is in my car.

I love it up here!

The closest we've gotten is feral cats, arboreal chickens and a couple of extremely amorous nocturnal skunks....

Ha! Must be a conspiracy. At noon my time (about an hour ago) there was a fawn in our backyard. I tried to get photos, but it was too far away and my Zire couldn't capture it. So cute! All spotted with a white tail.

Then, I drove off to the store and narrowly avoided squishing a big black snake that was on the road. My SUV scared it into the cookie-cutter subdivison, so with any luck it is terrorizing a soccer mom at this very moment.

It took me a bit to get past Bruce Willis' voice as RJ, but eventually it flowed. I quite liked it, I look forward to the DVD.

I haven't seen any deer at our place. When I lived in Tarzana, CA though, we had deer eating in our backyard. They seemed to like the pyrocantha. We do have racoons that visit our pond at night. They really make a mess of things.

Bwahahahahahaha. I didn't want to tease you until your wound healed, but I got quite a chuckle over how you spent all those years in NOVA virtually surrounded by deer and one gets you back in AZ.

I never thought of that! It'd be sort of like me avoiding all elk and deer up here then hitting one in Phoenix.
