Date: 2007-04-27 01:53 pm (UTC)Even though the CGI is brilliant and very well made, there are several errors in this short film that make me wonder how much (or in this case less) history of WW2 is taught throughout US schools and colleges, supposing the maker of this film is American, since the NAZI mech is only attacking US Forces.
The effort to use actual German in the beginning of the film granted, it makes no sense to me as to why a German war machine would attack the US from the Pacific ocean instead of the Atlantic. I'd rather think that it would be historically more correct to assume an attack at New York. Also, it would be unlikely that only one such war machine would have been produced. German tactics were the use of packs of 2 to 4 tanks, planes, ships, etc. to cover one another. The only units operating alone were the submarines. So, we should see rather two to four of these mechs than just one, who solely trys to overrun... hm... Pearl Harbour??!?
Still, from the mech-lover's pov freckin' awesome... ;)

As my grandfather liked to say, the Nazi Germans were crazy after shiny things in warfare. The Russian guns? Dirty, bitchy temper, but shooting like hell. The German guns? Highly polished, nicely balanced, but you were lucky to get a bullet out from the right end of it.
Mind you I have no idea, just quoting my grandpa. ;)
