I can't help thinking that, even if Nazi Germany had been in possession of a giant mech, it would have been never used because they weren't able to produce enough brown paint (which even sticks onto it...) for it, therefore being unable to provide a decent germanic uniform.
And I also think that they would have modelled the face after an antique statue or high-up party member, too, not just leaving it more or less in the "processing" stage.

As my grandfather liked to say, the Nazi Germans were crazy after shiny things in warfare. The Russian guns? Dirty, bitchy temper, but shooting like hell. The German guns? Highly polished, nicely balanced, but you were lucky to get a bullet out from the right end of it.

Mind you I have no idea, just quoting my grandpa. ;)
