Wow. I did anticipate one thing that happened in the book, but I'm not going into it yet. But thoroughly enjoying it, that's for sure! There are a couple of things that bothered me, but again, not gonna go into them yet, and it'll all be under a cut when I do.

I'm maybe two-thirds through it, Russet will be quite happy if I finish it before I head back to Las Cruces tonight. We read to each other as we drove to and from El Paso yesterday, that was a lot of fun.

Oh, and we saw the movie last week, we both liked it. They did a good job of cutting material to keep the movie at 2.5 hours. And I really like the girl whom they got for Luna Lovegood!

Hate to break it to you, but Little Nell dies.

Oh, and the ship hits an iceberg and sinks. Can't forget that.

After a while, they throw Timmy back into the well shouting "Screw you! If you can't learn to stay away from the well you can stay IN IT!"

Also, it's just a lead reproduction!

In one of the games that I created, "Waste of Celluloid", I have a card for an actor, a smart dog or something. The quote on the card is "What's that, boy? Timmy fell into the fusion intake?"

And who gives a rip about the ship. They built it secretly as a war ship prototype and were conducting unsafe evaluation drills. It deserved to sink because otherwise they would have used it in the forthcoming Muggle war!

Luna was lovely, wasn't she? From what I've heard, Evanna Lynch is pretty much just like that in real life. I also think they did an outstanding job casting Umbridge. She was totally believable, and her saccharine malice was as close as anyone could get to how I imagined it.

My only problem with Umbridge was look. She had the character down pat, I just wished she looked perhaps slighly more malevolent. I have another comment about her, but it theoretically could count as a spoiler, so it's going under a cut post.
