Anyone watching the new Logan's Run series on SciFi?

Opinions? Did you see the original Michael York movie or read the books?

I'm considering buying a season pass to it. I'll probably buy the first episode and maybe go from there. I'm definitely looking forward to the new Flash Gordon series!

Its where I first saw Michael York from memory.

I was cruising the iTunes store, actually, I was watching some freebie blipverts from Comedy Central and they had a little clip for the Flash Gordon. Much more nicely done (from what little I saw) than the DeLaurentis/Queen movie from all those years ago, but it looks like they're either keeping some of the Queen music or doing a very good job of sampling and tweaking it.

It seems like I'd heard of the Logan's Run series but for whatever reason didn't catch it. Again, cruising the iTunes store and telling it to go to SciFi, there it was. I enjoyed the original movie for its great eye candy, but I was VERY disappointed that their gun was a simple blaster. The one in the books was ever so much cooler.

I'm fairly sure my first Michael York experience was Three/Four Musketeers.

I've got the movie. I've never read the book or watched the old 70s TV series through. My dad read the book long ago and said he found it a little to internal for his liking.

The book is actually a trilogy, but it's been probably 25+ years since I read it and I don't remember what the other two books were about.

Man, there are times when I feel seriously old. :-)
