The celestial mechanics part was extremely hokey. Not to mention that they kept showing the planets as being visible to the naked eye, which they are not. (At least not in the way represented in the movie.) It was a cool graphic, but totally unbelievable.
It just seemed obvious that Adrian Paul was sick of doing Duncan MacLeod. His performance seemed to be just phoned in. The whole futuristic apocalypse thing was too over the top. The technology Methos and the others were using didn't make sense. I don't believe that we'll have that kind of technology readily available anytime soon, and the story can't be set too far into the future. Joe is alive, and he's only mortal. They didn't even show him as being that much older than what he was at the end of the tv series.
I don't think words can describe how utterly bad this movie was.
