What does this mean if you have a family emergency and have to fly the same day? "Sorry that your dad is dying, but you can't travel for three days."

I'm looking forward to seeing what Bruce Schneier writes about this.

Well, and what about if you miss a connecting flight? You'll have to sit in the airport for three days? Oi. STU-PID!

Right. Because people who are planning operations buy their tickets the day of or only a few days before. Wonder what this will do to the discount sites that wait until as soon as possible before flying so that the seats they buy are really cheap...

...and the idea of having to wait three days for clearance is stupid. Unless they're planning on building a rapid-transit system to compensate for this, they're going to have a lot of angry people.

Actually, this is exactly what happened to us. (Evil Rob's dad, and we got the tix that night for the next day.) We got there in time, barely.

Oh yeah, this is a passport to HELL.
