"There are many other kinds of milk available. Why do we not drink rats' milk, cats' milk, or dogs' milk?"
-- Heather Mills (the former Lady McCartney), on the contribution cows make to global warming

I think one of two things will have to happen. Either they're going to have to gene-engineer the critters up to the scale of a cow so that the milking equipment will work, or they'll have to scale down the milking equipment to fit the stupid stupid rat creatures. If you upscale the critters, there is no change in pollution. If you downscale the milking equipment, you'll need dozens, if not hundreds, of critters to make an equivalent volume of milk, sounds like pretty labor intensive.

Rats, cats and dogs also all produce less milk for the food you give them. Even goats aren't as efficient as cows who have been selectively bred for thousands of years for the purpose.
