The final 100 stores will be closed after the holiday season.

Personally, I found their stores OK for browsing in, but I rarely bought things there. They sometimes had good discounts on computer books, but that was about it. They always sort of felt like an expanded version of Best Buy's computer department, but still no where near as good as Fry's Electronics.

I know what you mean. It seemed like it was always a place that was "OK," but never quite as neat as you might hope. Then again, out here there's not a whole lot else to pick from, so.... I just hope we get a Fry's, 'cause that place is just amazing.

We have two Fry's stores in Phoenix, and as we get down there every two or three months, it's pretty easy for me to hit them.

They're VERY dangerous places, though! You can end up spending a lot of money over time there! ;-)

I have no question about how dangerous a store like that can be. I see it as kind of the electronic version of Barnes & Noble, only with more expensive and shiny stock.

I still hope we can get one here. I could deal with some peril. ;}

mmmmmm ... Fry's!

I first encountered Fry's in CA this past summer.

I'm still buzzing from the high of being in that store.

Got myself an on-sale phone/ear-piece Bluetooth, nice and cheap!
