Apparently so. Warner has it and has given it to the same pair that were the developers of the Lord of the Rings.

I think it's interesting, but as I recall, there wasn't a heck of a lot of action in Foundation. Each book is centuries past the previous, there's no character continuity. I just don't see it working. But apparently I, Robot did over $300 mill, so who knows.

Will Smith's I Robot resembled Asimov's I Robot um. . .in name?

and. . .

they both had household robots?

and. . . um. Sorry. Out of similarities now.

I, Robot was not anything near any of the stories in that book, though. It was an action movie that had the names changed. If they try to do that to Foundation, and make it a primarily-action movie, there will be a fail-stamp attached because a large part of Foundation is avoiding the use of violence unless absolutely necessary.

Yeah, Foundation (at least the one book I've read so far) wasn't exactly action-packed. Considering how I, Robot pretty much had no relation to Asimov's I, Robot except for the title and the Three Laws of Robotics, I'm not holding my breath. However, if it's being developed by the people who did LotR, maybe there's hope.
