They uphold a lower court ruling that personal emails (webmail, etc) on a work computer have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Very good stuff. The case they ruled on had a person on a work laptop sending email to her attorney via webmail complaining about bosses. Her employer found out and nastiness apparently ensued.

Good to know that the justices are okay with saying, "No, really, some communication, regardless of where it happens, is protected from the prying eyes of an employer." If it's appealed all the way up, I hope the Supremes send it back saying, "Nope. We're not taking this one."

Still, I think I'll continue using my Gmail account in the workplace :) (or send it encrypted)
