"There is no such thing as global warming."
— Rick Santorum
*sigh*
In a recent NPR article, a poll showed that Americans are more skeptical than ever that climate change is real. A poll also shows that 97% of American scientists believe that global warming is real.

We don't have political beliefs, we have political FAITHS. It's like when I used to go to church, and no matter how horrible the Ladies' Trio was, or how fumblingly incompetently ignorantly redneck the preacher was, we had to smile and say Amen because they was doing it for Jayzuss, for whom pureness of heart meant more than competence.
And no matter how often evil prospered, good suffered, and lightning struck the church steeple, we kept praying and dropping our dollars in the plate. It didn't matter that it wasn't logical and didn't work, we had FAITH in it. We had FAITH, and if we lowered our head and ran into the brick wall fast as we could with our eyes closed hard and FAITH in our hearts, we would bust through for sure this time, no matter what happened the last thousand times we tried it.
And that, sir, is what our politics has become. Pick your faith and get stupid.
