No, that's a regular Republican thing - say the absolute truth and see if the media picks up on what you said, or just blithely reprints it and analyzes it as if you had said what was the appropriate political thing to say.

Sadly, the media more often than not earns a grade of Fail, unless the person in question is a Designated Target.
