Ireland declares 7,000 evoting machines to be junk

They've spent over 50 million euros on them. They were trialled in 2002 and were to be rolled out in 2004, but so many problems were found that the deployment was put on hold. And now they're scrap.

And yet, we continue to field Diebold (and other) machines even though they're proven to be crap.

They Irish might like to drink, but they're not stupid drinkers. They know when to cut their losses.
